Workshop Description
:
Al & Lavonne have two different styles and approaches to painting, but both are loose and colorful. Demonstrations in the morning and afternoon allow you to see and experience different subject matter and approaches to painting. Strong design, composition, enthusiasm and lots of knowledge of watercolor, combine in this two day workshop to create a unique watercolor experience.
Together, Al & Lavonne will take you step by step through their process of making a painting and choosing a subject.
Al uses a clear beautiful
style using color and shape to define his subject matter to create his art. Lavonne's creative use of color and techniques produces art that has a spontaneity and flow.
Al Albrektson is a Lifetime member of RIWS and is one of the best painters in New England. Though he paints in both oil and watercolor, his primary concentration is in watercolors.
"I'm certainly not a realist. Well I am a realist, just not a tight one".
-Al Albrektson
Lavonne Suwalski is a Signature member of RIWS and her work is in corporate and private collections around the world. She has taught all levels and ages of artists.
"Watercolors are my passion. I love the fluidity and
transparency
that can only be experienced in this media. When an artist learns to give themselves enough freedom to allow the paint to assist them in developing the art, the results are truly magical."
-Lavonne Suwalski
